Alkaline batteries are primary or secondary batteries dependent upon the reaction between zinc and manganese dioxide (Zn/MnO2). Alkaline batteries are made with an alkaline based electrolyte of potassium hydroxide, which is where its name comes from.







Alkaline Battery Parts:

Anode(negative terminal): Zinc powder

Cathode(positive terminal): Manganese dioxide

Electrolyte: Potassium hydride
